Re: Topic Tuesday // Is it okay to ignore Christmas? // 19 Dec, 7pm AEDT

How amazing is online shopping @Former-Member - I did most of mine on there too.
That's a great strategy to make things a little easier on yourself!

Maybe we need to find a group of 'anti christmas' clinicians to start a club so they stay open 😄

That's a good plan @NikNik! Let's work on that for next year. Smiley Happy

How many people are in your family & your husband's family? It sounds like about a bazillion.

@Former-Member - really with you with this time of the year and the feeling that having kids can bring with it (including feeling the need to get through it thing that can come with that)! And the shops 😮 I am not ok with shops at the best of times and this time of the year is extra extra hard!

Feeling even more alone than already really alone would be very hard @Maggie.

An anti-christmas club of support people sounds like a great idea @NikNik 😄

Re: Topic Tuesday // Is it okay to ignore Christmas? // 19 Dec, 7pm AEDT

Hi all,
I’m trying to ‘do’ Christmas this year instead of catastrophise it. It’s going very slowly and it is very stressful for the same reasons @NikNik said. Planning and buying food and presents is very stressful as there are too many decisions :face_with_rolling_eyes:The last few years I’ve landed in hospital just prior. This year hopefully I’ll have that bit under control.
Just wanted to pass on that I hope everyone survives christmas (still seems like something to survive) and has a few moments of joy along the way.

@Phoenix_Rising
12 on Christmas eve
13 on Christmas day
30ish on Christmas night 🙂

OMG @NikNik. That’s huge.

Hi @Teej - so lovely to 'see' you (loving the purple avatar!)
Do you have something enjoyable that YOU want to do planned for christmas?

Re: Topic Tuesday // Is it okay to ignore Christmas? // 19 Dec, 7pm AEDT

Oh god @NikNik, I feel for you. That would require a lot of hard work to get through that day Smiley Frustrated

@NikNik ROFL. I cannot begin to tell you how completely opposite our worlds are. How the heck do you even remember that many relatives??? When I actually had a family of origin, it consisted of a mum, dad, one brother, one sister and one uncle.

Yes, the isolation that comes with summer holidays, Xmas, and New Year, is part of why it's the worst time of year for me
