Share a cuppa?

Re: Share a cuppa?

When we're stressed after a long day at work or a stressful day with the kids, we often find ourselves at the supermarket, tired, hungry and thirsty, going "What are we gonna have for dinner?" and we pick the first easy feel good meals; they're packed with sugar, fat and high in salt, all addictive and quite bad for us. We pick them because in that state we're stressed and the pressure is on to feel good. When we drink some water, that pressure is relieved. I really can't stress enough everyone should have a hydration bladder backpack, you'll make better choices and be less stressed, even at work.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Yes, softdrinks weren't originally meant to be an everyday drink, they were meant to be a once a week treat. Any softdrink making company will tell you never hydrate with softdrink, tea, coffee or milk, always hydrate with water. You can have one or two cups of tea and coffee a day because in moderation they too are good for you, even hot chocolate in moderation is good for you, but always hydrate with water. We're 98% water, we need that more than any other liquid.

Re: Share a cuppa?

You are right @Abner . I'll add water to my menu here in this thread. So each cuppa comes with a complimentary glass of water lol!

Re: Share a cuppa?

That's a great idea. Many of us with mental health issues will find our stress levels and resilience improve when we're reminded to drink enough water every day. Those of us with weight problems will find they also improve, because drinking enough water also improves our appetite and our bodies' ability to absorb food.

Re: Share a cuppa?

I'm putting on the kettle folks, who's up for a cuppa? It's very chilly and rainy in Vic so I might set up the (virtual) fireplace to keep us toasty

What are you all getting up to this evening?

I'm feeling pretty tired after a weekend away from home which was a little TOO social.

Re: Share a cuppa?

I would love a cuppa @Former-Member

I am in Melbourne too so feeling the cold.

Not doing much this evening. Just heated up dinner for the kids and going to settle on the couch with the dog.

It is tiring at times to be social. I hope you have been able to get some rest today.

Re: Share a cuppa?

@Snowie, I'll send one your way ❤️ And yes, it can be quite tiring can't it! I hope some dog cuddles on the couch keep you nice and toasty. My cats are in a weird mood so I don't know how many cuddles I'll be getting this evening hehe

And @TAB, wow, that seems hot to me! And I have some of those days too. Bed feels like the right place to be, for whatever reason! And yum. I really wish I could have coffee in the evenings! It's so tasty. Maybe I need to get some decaf hehe

Re: Share a cuppa?

@Former-Member, in the cold here too. I'm going out for dinner but don't really feel like it in this weather. Being social can be tiring, I feel you.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Its not overly warm here either @Former-Member. I hope you had time to relax today after your weekend.

I think it’ll be very early to bed for me tonight.
