Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
How are you doing? I read your post in the worry room. It's so hard for you my Lil Sis. You are being pulled in many directions. But who is taking care of you?

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
Im sorry the NDIS meeting was really hard on you, was any progress made at all? Whats the planning meetings actually for? Im not to familiar with the ndis, hope its not triggerring to ask about?
Your situation with your psych has be dissapointed and frustrated for you. The treatment your getting isnt right or fair.
Sad and fked up seems to be a good description for me too. Feeling it all with you. We can help each other through it though 💕
Im just so torn in trying to meet peoples needs more so siblings and pop but struggling to spread my attention out across all areas and seems they are all suffering at some point. The little one is struggling abit with not seeing mum as much now but i havent been the best of sisters to her either. With the middle one being more overwhelming as well its taking abit more of my energy so not as much for little. Plus horses too.
It would be nice if the surgeon has some answers on monday. I cant handle this nerve issues and pain on top of everything else which the pdoc the other day was really unhelpful too. . I really shouldve been healed by now or close to it. Not still being so distressed by the pain itching or tingling i cant sleep or breathe or be embarrassed by other side effects like slurring my words. Its been 5 weeks so far.
Sorry for the ramble...

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
Once you receive approval for the NDIS (which I have been. WA is well behind the Eastern States in providing funding for psychological support) the the next step is to have a planning meeting to determine what services or supports you require. For example I need more psychological support & specialist treatment and only a little practical help. A local area coordinator records all this information taken from you, puts it in a sensible, logical order and sends it for approval. If the requests are accepted or approved then a certain. amount of funding is allocated to you (for the first 12 months & then it is reviewed). There is usually someone appointed to you to help find the services, manage the funding allocation and report back to the NDIA (national disability insurance agency--slightly different to the NDIS). In the planning stages you give info about how you are living and functioning, what supports you have and what your short to long term goals are--like returning to work. It's very, very complex & I couldn't possibly cover everything about it in one post. But essentially when applying for the NDIS and in the planning stages you have to think about how you manage on your worst days and use that as a guide (otherwise you wouldn't be approved if you were functioning at an okish level). That's why it's hard, and why I feel so fkd up. Getting NDIS funding for mental illness can only be given if your condition is likely to be permanent and impact your day to day functioning and abilities.
I'm sure you are doing the best you can in all areas and for everyone which is tricky with different ages and stages in their lives. You are only one person taking on the role of sister, mother, granddaughter and carer. Give yourself a little slack. You can't possibly meet everyone's expectations or demands.
And hopefully Monday brings some answers for you mouth.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
I hope the process doesnt go to slowly. It seems like it'll be quite helpful in the long run.. @Sans911
Its a :pile_of_poo: feeling to have to be accepted with ndis etc and think about the tough things. Its not you as a person though, mental illness is an absolute monster 👾
Thanks sis. Its tough, i cant see anything changing so will need to work out other ways to cope etc instead.
Hugs and love 💜💜💜

Many people who might have been placed in your position would have likely ran in the opposite direction.

Re: The Challenges of Mental Health Wellbeing
Thanks @Sans911 i guess sometimes you dont really have a choice but to cope, however it may look at the time. Parts of me had given up that fight a long time ago. Now i just trudge through the day. Not really much will or zest for life. Tiring but i suppose that is the way it is for now.
Do you have much on tomorrow?
