I agree totally with @avant-garde!  Definitely email them and tell them what happened and how it's made you feel.  That was just way over the top and would make anyone feel so embarrassed.  I hate walking through those security exit scanner thingies!  Absolutely hate it!  I always tense up because those things go off all the time, because they don't like something in you pocket or they forgot to deactivate a security tag!  I just get so anxious walking through them.  It's a bit easier these days because no one seems to pay them any attention half the time.  And these new gates Coles have that don;t let you out until you've paid!  Don;t get me started!!

So i don't think your post was a rant, you have every right to be upset and to let them know.  If it was me, i'd be completely p#$$ed.
