Honestly speaking, any relationship loss can stir up the feelings that come with grief. Grief has both physical and mental effects.
If your case, due to DV, your grief may turn to relief - as long as you make space for both - to both grieve the loss, but to also move on.
The fact that you have started a Cert 4 in Peer Work shows you are already taking active steps to move on. It shows the acceptance that things are now different, and you are doing what you can to better yourself.
