It also clearly states that one of the exemptions to the prohibition of information used from surveillance devices is ... "A person subjected to violence or an immediate threat of violence uses surveillance to keep evidence of offending."
By the way, i'm no lawyer, so don't take this as legal advice. But you deserve to be safe and you have the right to make your home safe from threats. And part of that protection is surveillance.
