Hello Always-hope,

It always saddens me to hear of couples not being able to manage life together and I can understand your feelings at this time.

Unfortunately, I know the situation from the perspective of one whose marriage disintegrated against his wishes. Also, from the point of view of a parent seeing their child in a similar situation.

We renew our hopes when children begin a new life with a partner and it is extremely distressing when those hopes appear to be unfulfilled.

There is a very genuine grief attached to these situations and events.
