Re: Isolation
Firstly I'd be asking a lot of questions about the situation in an effort to try and figure out the best course of action. Do you believe she's BPD or is it just a lazy diagnosis from the hospital? I don't want to cause any problems by questioning the diagnosis but the reality is teenagers can have all sorts of emotional problems and maybe it's better to deal with it than to take medicine. Maybe she's spending too much time on the internet and social media and thats the cause of some of the problems. Maybe she's had problems at school your not aware of. Are you able to talk to her? Do you believe the diagnosis is correct?.... i wondered if you mentioned the solution yourself. "my only respite is going to work where i am so busy i forget about it all for a while". Maybe getting a job would be the healthiest thing she could do. If thats possible. Because i don't understand the situation, but i would assume that long term, you probably want a kid who has a job and is doing something rather than a kid who wastes their time on the internet after being prescribed pills. I hope its ok to say that, just providing an alternative viewpoint and ideas.
