Retirement (mental health)

Re: Retirement (mental health)

Ahoy @MJG017, it's been a little too long since we spoke.

I stumbled upon a reference to improving wellbeing by volunteering with Meals on Wheels, here:

https://nswmealsonwheels.org.au/app-social-wellbeing

It's NSW but I presume its works the same way elsewhere.

Is that something that might work for you?

How're you going, in general?

Re: Retirement (mental health)

Hey @Explorer7, good to hear from you again.  I'm doing okay... ups and downs.  Today is a bit of a down but it happens.  How are you traveling?  Keeping busy at all?

Meals on Wheels is an option for me I think.. I'll add it to the list and see what they offer here.  I know they have it here, but I'll have to see if they're looking for volunteers.  Thanks for the idea.

I'm still working on that book you recommended (The Science of Stuck).  It's taking me a while, probably because I spend too much time here typing away 🙂  I like the way you don't have to read it from to back, just the parts that sound helpful.  I actually brought up the idea of anxiety being an engine warning light, rather than a problem itself to my local support group last week, and the were asking me about it again this morning, so it seems to resonate with a lot of people as a way to help with their own anxiety.  So your recommendation is spreading.
