Something’s not right

Moving forward (sexual abuse )

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

What a terrible experience for you @outlander.  I want you to know I've been through SA myself more than once and you can tell me anything and I will listen and help if you want me to.  The first time I was 10, then 15 then several times from a partner in my 30s.  I've also been through DV and another assault that was attempted murder.  But I'm still here and working on recovery - not that I expect to be cured but at least to manage better.  I won't let them win and opt out as hard as life can be at times.

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

I'm really very sorry if I said too much @outlander.  What I should have said is I care deeply about what you are going through and will help if I can.

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

@outlander  I am hoping to get into a support group called Living Beyond Abuse soon.  It's for people who have experienced domestic or family violence and is on at the local Women's Centre.  You might have a women's centre where you live that has supports you are eligible for, if you are up to it.  They say it will help to gain an understanding of yourself and your relationships, reduce self blame, improve your self esteem and meet other women in similar situations.  Something like this might really help you when you feel ready for it.

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

@eth i really appreciate your response
Sorry for not reaponding and causing you distress last night
Im.not fully quite awake and still feelinf yukky but not like last night just the effects of last night and general anxiety
Please know i care very much for you too

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

@outlander any distress was down to my own disclosure.  I was just concerned for you when you didn't reply and I felt I had over-shared.  Lets move on.  What can you do this morning to help you feel better?  Ginger tea or cordial or just plain soda water are really good for settling your tummy.

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

Good idea @eth 💕💕

When i was on my medications it helped with these sort of anxiety side effects but since not being on them they have come back in full force as if to say how dare you try to supress me lol
Hmm i dont have any of those... a cup of tea would e good though that sometimes helps ao might try that

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

@outlander have you told your Dr what's happened about your medications?  Do they have a plan to help you?

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

Yeah my gp knows that was part of the distress on my other thread @eth
The plan is im taking my meds whether they like it or not

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

That's the spirit @outlander!  You should feel a little better hopefully once you adjust to the meds.

Re: Moving forward (sexual abuse )

I have time for a better response now..
thank you for even taking the time to read my story. I really cant be anymore grateful to you. Im so sorry you had that horrible experience happen to you too. You most definently have been through the wringer yourself. How the heck did you get through all that!?
Im so glad your getting support, you very much deserve it!.
It breaks my heart just how common Sexual abuse is even if its- hmm im trying to find the right right word- mild..?- that still doesnt sound right to me because every experience no matter what it is is still traumatic. I havent been the victim of DV but I have seen it and through this I know the effects of it- during an argument I watched someone get thrown against a wall and then get told to get out of the house and this was at a younger age as well.
I do have a womens centre but Id rather not go to it esp not at this time but it is something to think about though. Thank you
I do have questions but I like yourself dont want to distress anyone.

and as you have said to me- im here for you too and you can talk to me about anything and ask as many questions as you like- if i dont answer straight away well im sure you understand Heart
