Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

They're all nice Horrace/ Bat pictures @Sophia1 I like pic 1 & pic 2 the best.

Pic 2 is very similar to the pic I posted (a month or so ago) - Of Horrace having a quick Snack of Flower Nectar, whilst out doing Postal Deliveries...

Hello @Adge

Dear Horrace,

Thank you for responding to me about which picture...

You are also astute as they are photographs that you posted yourself way back in the thread...

I will select one from the  first two then..

I am thinking the one close to the plant would fit perfectly within our current story..

The little girl with no name will meet you in the library at some stage..

Hello @Flax

I am sorry that I did not reply to the image of a selkie that you posted previously..

It is quite beautiful..

I am planning to write her into the story at some stage depending on how it flows from here..

I have a few ideas ...

Hope that you are feeling more settled..

Look forward to hearing from you when you are able..

It brought tears to my eyes to read your little extension story.

Heart

The little girl would like to remain nameless, and she is grateful to the professor/father/uncle/friend for allowing her to stay.  She does her best to entertain herself and finds Little Bee, Sooty, and Horrace Bat all wonderful company.

At the moment she is eating from her blue bowl.  Thanks cook @Shaz51

She is not sure why she is so old fashioned, maybe it is true she is a time traveller.

Glad this bee is not in her bonnet, but doing what he is meant to do!

Sooty did notice one missing but important picture. @Sophia1 the soul of our adventure

I hope you don't mind, but I found this picture of a Selkie. Its how I picture you in the story. Note the otter skin dress, and, no its not Versace. Perhaps a Celtic seamstress or even by your own hands!

Lucky we now have a magical coin in the Castle library. One of its powers is to transform people or creatures into another person or creature. You just have to hold it and make a wish. This is handy if you want to change character, persona or even your picture in our fantasy journey.

The little girl with no name is a time traveller within her mind....her imagination runs wild as she has so much time during her days without the company of adults..

She loves her friends, Little Bee, Horrace, red brown dog, Sooty with whom she can roam wildly amongst the grassed areas of the castle and allow her mind to run free...

In the back of her mind..there is a story about a creature from the sea ..in front of the ancient castle...

Looking down at the sea...large rocks are visible and she has on occasion whilst precariously leaning over, glimpsed a seal basking in the sun on one of the large rocks..

Something strange occurred on one of these occasions where she saw movement of fur on the body of the seal...she jumped back quickly as had never seen anything like this before...

Up above within one of the turrets of the ancient castle a human figure could be seen watching over all of the land and forest belonging to the ancient castle..

The professor hurried down to the entrance of the castle and strode with great purpose across to the edge of the cliff where the little girl with no name and been precariously leaning over ..then jumping back suddenly..

He called out the words

come away from there immediately...you are not to venture out in this area at all..this you have already been told...It is not safe for you to be here...

Go inside immediately and seek the cook...

I have already instructed her to prepare you some warm soup with freshly baked bread..

Red brown dog had already run for cover...Little Bee..Horrace observing from the library window all looked on with grave concern..

Meanwhile in the forest at the back of the ancient castle roamed Sooty in his usual carefree manner...sniffing everywhere...marking his new territory...crouching ready to spring on noticing Megs between the forest trees ....

What was she up to?

What did Sooty do next?

Who else was keeping a watchful eye on the little girl with no name?

Where had the professor disappeared to?

Your turn.....

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Hello @Flax

Well done….

Absolutely love the different angle….

Time travelling was on mind also…..

Not from the perspective that you have used…

It is brilliant….

I was waiting to read that oddly enough all of us in the rescue party of the story all met on a forum for unwell minds….

Why not a forum for unwell minds on a creative writing thread with a difference…

When I saw bedraggled Sooty…..I thought oh gosh he has wandered down to where the little girl was and fallen off of the edge into the sea below….

A female seal rather odd had rescued him…..later to re-emerge into a white dressed lady with a name badge….

The name badges cracked me up….those white stick on ones where your name is pre-written and misspelt as you turn up for a meeting… not only Sophia but Sophia 1 ….correct….haha

Then I was in shock horror with all of the injuries that Sooty was receiving….thought that I might have to stop reading….thankfully subject redirected…

Calling out to each of our user names…

So pleased that Sooty liked the logo on my car….in my dreams….if in real life would make my younger son’s world….He loves lamborghinis…

A very creative chapter with a difference that has certainly brought with it a breath of fresh air…

Now I wonder where this will go now..

I am on the sidelines spectating for a while…

PS  I do hope that you are feeling much better…

I am feeling wretched today...

Your writing helped me today thank you

💛

Hello @Flax  , and   @Sophia1 , @Appleblossom @Exoplanet @Adge

A lovely story @Flax and I also concur with @Sophia1 's reservations, in the midst of her delightful summary, about continuing to read for fear of further mishaps.

Edit: However, very happy that I continued to read the story to it's happy conclusion.

With Best Wishes

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Hey @Sophia1

Sorry to hear your having a bad day. Cat Sad

I've had a bit of a rough time, but on the mend. So was feeling a bit banged about when I wrote Sooty visited the ER. The idea was we have rough days, but there are people who care, and we do get through it.

It went off the general flow of the thread, but don't worry, Sooty is back to the forest/lake fantasyland and wont be going near the city for awhile. Cat Happy

A lot of my stuff is metaphor or allegory (not sure which, will have to google what they mean). Sometimes its just naughty Sooty, doing his random thing.

Timetravel - well we've got that covered. Did I mention the time portal in the caves?...ah, but that's a Sooty adventure for another day.

Valhalla portal.jpg

You've made my day! Just by saying I've helped a bit.

Just had to mention a lamborghini. Flax uses marketing and mega expensive things to spice things up occasionally. That reminds me of the time Sooty and Chuck Norris...well let's just say if Sooty owned a car, it wouldn't be an Italian primadona, something more manly and made in good old, gas guzzling, greedy USA...lol

Ooops digressed, yet again.

You've made me smile with the comment Why not a forum for unwell minds on a creative writing thread with a difference…

As usual Sooty has gone off on a tangent thinking that was what this thread was...hence his adventure to the city.

I have a lovely saying to share "Reality is kinder than your thoughts about it."

Be kind to yourself @Sophia1

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Megs/Meggle made her way into the castle where the nameless girl and the professor lived. She quickly and quietly crept into the library. She took hold of the magic golden coin and said out loud. I will now be known as Vanessa, the ballet dancing, bee keeping tutor. Then just as quickly as she had arrived she was gone again.

Re: Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

oh now I am all teary @Flax

that was a very caring reply...

thank you so much...

you have helped again

interesting about the cave suggestion...had the same thought myself today

perhaps we are mind travelling .....

well we all do that don't we haha

the sane people have no concept of what fun the rest of us  can have...

I also think that our thread is creative writing with a difference or on a different level

How about that?

I enjoyed the contrast and change ....

hello @Oaktree  Vanessa the bee tutor

can't wait to hear new adventures...

here comes the sun 💛 can you hear the drums playing?
