Writing and receiving letters via virtual post

Selkie Fowld had a big headache....

She was totally confused and felt as though she had been lifted up high by some huge out of space autocraft...satellite...

spun around the universe....bounced and tipped...bumped and swayed.....

to finally be plonked on what appeared initially a lush green large piece of land...

her vision started to clear allowing her to see further ... a healthy looking woodland that towered high above the lush green land....came into view..

climbing up onto a large grassed hill she was able to see her beautiful sea....surrounding the lush piece of green land and woodland...

the sea being her place of safety...

She was really not sure what had happened as she had been through several experiences of late (scroll  back several pages and read each post)

she had encountered different  creatures also....

Were these dreams....hallucinations...?  Was she confusing reality with virtuality ? within her real life?............in this virtual one on this thread?..............

Just to further clarify as reading over the last part which I will quote I now realise is even more confusing...

The comments and comparisons stated below all refer to "Selkie Fowld" only.... not Sophia

Were these dreams...imaginings.?  

I have taken the last part out as even though I know the conundrum I was trying to create to give the storyline  a place to follow on from....for others could be unfathomable...

So please ...someone....write something...

Did you understand the conundrum I was trying to create between her real world...her own virtual world inbetween hemispheres..add on the virtual world of the story telling on this thread....

I always love the groups of 5 fruits on River Red Gums.  We were taught they were shaped like wine glasses, suggesting a wholesome attitude to wine! But as with most things it about 'how much'!

For me the hesitation of going wild in the imagination has been an important life saving issue.  Not that I am agin flights of imagination, just that I have needed to remain grounded given my situation.

It has been good for me to go for these short flights of fancy.

Thank you ..I had not noticed that there were 5 fruits on the red river gum...I always viewed them as gum nuts..

So I have learnt something today which is always a good thing for me. 

I never want to stop learning..

As for the 5 glasses of wine well yes that is about a whole bottle I believe...Interesting could even be referred to as red wine as a salute to the river red gum tree..

Wine in moderation most definitiely preferably accompanied with food...

I understand the need to feel grounded..This is the case with me at times...I have taught myself how to do that..probably from a young child...where talk of grounding oneself was never part of a conversation..

There are no expectations of what to write about....

a contribution just like this one can lead to a story being created within the mind of another..

Lovely to hear from you and very happy to read that the short flights of fancy have been good for you.

It certainly has for myself also...reading the contributions of others..

Re the term "grounding"

I first encountered it in early 20s and used it with my young piano students back in the early 90s.  It is necessary for good concentration and fine motor skills.

Have just arrived home after a very pleasant day out; lunch with brother and his wife. They have been traveling and phoned yesterday, to arrange connectioon for today. Also visited two other sets of friends during the afternoon. About 250 km all up. It was a lovely day, about Mid 20's temperature, beautiful lush green crop colours that match the current story line of "Writing and receiving letters via virtual post." Wild fllowers galore and "carpets" of canola. There is still a little water in pools beside the road - not a lot, but shows that the moisture level in the ground is good. Hope that all this leads in to a good harvest.

So now, after some play with Kirra, time to review "notifications", and respond as appropriate.

I love the imagery presented, of the sea, or lake, below wooded green slopes and a castle in the centre.

A haven for sea folk and land folk, both.

I feel a bit awkward. I'd never heard of Selkies, so I looked them up & that's
when I discovered the Kelpie {water horse}. I did read the myth & it isn't
a pleasant one, Kelpies in horse form coax people onto their backs & then
run into the water & drown them & eat them! But being a make-believe
story, I made this one a kind Kelpie, a vegetarian kelp eating Kelpie. I was
going to add to the story, that the Kelpie being a shape shifter, changed into
a dog just before the Selkie saw it & how the Kelpie thought it was so
wonderful that the Selkie rescued it; that the Kelpie realized even though
the Selkie was different, it was a kind & caring soul. But when I read that
Sooty & Kelpies can't exist in the same space I felt like I'd said something
wrong. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

Please let me reassure you that you have not written anything that could possibly offend someone..

Your contributions on this thread are always written with thought and care...

you are a great storyteller and are a vital ingredient in this thread still being here...

I actually jumped to the same conclusion myself thinking automatically oh I have written a story that has disillusioned a person..

It was my mistake in not understanding the connection of a kelpie dog and a mythological creature referred to as a watery kelpie...

So I rambled on about a normal kelpie...

At the end of the day, @Exoplanet  we contribute with good intentions...we enjoy what we do and sharing the storytelling..

The fact that the storyline changes consistently and does not tie in with the last or next writer is neither here nor there...actually I like that side of it...all writing away about something different...why not...

we are members of a mental health forum not sitting for a literary examination...

It is impossible for us to please everyone..

There will always be someone who does not like what is the latest storyline...create your own and tie it in..or just write whatever you want...

The thread is about enjoying the storytelling...adding your own touch or twist...bringing back some lightheartedness within our writing...

I also am aware that a couple of people @Shaz51 has so much going on at the moment and we do not want you to feel guilty...you are spread out far too much as it is....So please our dear Mrs Shaz , we do not expect you to worry about this thread....you will always be one of us....pop in only if you want to use it as an escape....

look after yourself and family first...You are very important to us... We love you and need you to follow up with some self care...

@Adge busy with complex government census...if you do not have time all fine...no guilt...come when you choose.

@Appleblossom has written about this and left a small contribution...beautiful.
