Share a cuppa?

Re: Share a cuppa?

@Oaktree LOL I'll share a cuppa BUT gotta do it from my bed. I'm almost catatonic: can't move, can't feel energy & barely able to talk.

I'm a deep thinker & just wondering why there's so little public mental health support available. I feel like I need a psychiatric inpatient admission but they won't take you in unless there is serious risk. Thing is, I'm barely functional & deeply fearful & lonely. It feels like glaring into an abyss

I hope this helps to relieve your stress.

Must be the freaky alignment of the whatevers that @Former-Member was talking about. A bunch of us are struggling this week. Maybe I need to hold my crystal to remove my negativity

I am so sorry that you are so deeply depressed. It’s an awful black hole isn’t it? I remember that feeling. I spent a couple of years in that never ending black hole but I did finally get to the other side of it. Hold on hun, there is hope. Just take one second at a time and don’t make dumb decisions.

What kind of drink would you like?

I am making yummy drinks today

Re: Share a cuppa?

@Oaktree what a beautiful, thoughtful response. Thanks for sharing. Wow having this feeling for a couple of years! That must have been so agonising/ or numbing, depending on the type of depression. @Oaktree is an apt name, I feel sheltered beneath your vast braches.

I am glad you feel sheltered, I recently changed my username actually. I am liking this new one! It represents hope in recovery for me.
I want you to know that I see you in your struggles and having been there myself I understand. It’s the worst feeling ever and not knowing if or when it’s ever going to stop or end. I wish there were more mental health placements for less acute cases. In WA they do have Neami step up step down units for less severe cases but it’s only a 28 day stay and you have to do things whilst there like help make dinner every 3 or 4 nights. But they work with you on yourself. Help you see your talents and strengths. Work on resilience and self esteem. Basically whatever you want to work on but there is a waiting list and you have to go to an interview. Get your support worker to refer you.

Would you like a hot or cold drink?

I am waiting to take your very important order

Re: Share a cuppa?

To me it sounds like you do have a severe case of depression if you can’t get out of bed. I bet you are struggling to shower and look after yourself too. Trouble is that they won’t take you in hospital unless you are suicidal. It’s ridiculous that they let it get to that in the first place. There needs to be reform to our mental health system

Just excuse me for a moment. I have gotten all steamed up about our broken mental health system. Maybe I need to start campaigning for change. This affects me and I am well enough right now to do something. But what? Nearly all consumers feel the same way but they don’t take us seriously as a group because we are “crazy”.

Thing is in America they have started calling for re-institutionalisation of the mentally ill. If that happens surely we will follow? We can’t let that be a thing. Maybe I should start a petition or something
