Share a cuppa?

Re: Share a cuppa?

@RiverSeal awesome! Is that full time? Well done.
Yeah I take pride in the fact that I have (or had), a job and I am the first person in my family to work as opposed to on Centrelink (not dissing cenno) and that’s important to me that I earn an income to support my family. Having a job has saved me from many different directions life could of taken me.
Im glad that I found my “thing” and that is gardening.

Our little dot is going really well thanks for asking @RiverSeal 5 months would you believe? rolling now and definitely waking up past the newborn stage and showing us her little personality

Re: Share a cuppa?

It's part-time @ArraDreaming so I can work at the same time. It's better for my mental health to have diversity in my life and I love work so much that I couldn't study full-time and do my role at SANE and the other orgs I work with.

So happy to hear about your pride in working and supporting your family! I bet there are challenges with being the first person in your family to work and that's an amazing achievement. I'm sure you will get another job and continue your career! I volunteered in a garden in my recovery journey going back a few years ago. It was such a great experience, and I can understand how it's your thing!

5 months old, wow! I remember when I heard you had a baby and time goes fast, I bet as a parent huh? I wish you and your family all the best and that you enjoy every moment.

That’s awesome! Diversity and mixing things up is important @RiverSeal

Yeah, just doing my best to rewrite things so my family get more opportunities than I did, can’t change my upbringing but I can do better for my kids, its like school, never had any value on school I hated it didnt see a point, i went purely to get out of the house, didnt do any learning, parents put no emphasis on it either they didnt finish school so they didnt see much reason in us going either, but now as a parent I value education and sending my kids to school cause its an opportunity, i did what i could with what i had but  I want to give my kids more then that

yeah time goes so fast its incredible

5 months later but I still think “woah I have 3 kids” 🤪

Re: Share a cuppa?

You are providing your kids with opportunity and that is a credit to you @ArraDreaming and you are setting an example for them too. You are inspiring and sounds like you are a loving and caring parent too. Keep up the great work and stay on the path to recovery like you are doing so well!

It's been great chatting with you this evening @ArraDreaming and please tag me anytime about anything at all. I'm here for you anytime and would love to chat again sometime.

@RiverSeal I’m trying to get better at talking to more people
I talk to the people I know well around here like @tyme @Jynx and that but one of my goals is to get better at meeting new people
And I feel like we havent spoke that much before

Re: Share a cuppa?

It's great that you have connections with Tyme and Jynx and I see you chatting with other Forums members too. We haven't chatted before, and it was really lovely to chat tonight! I have been on the Forums for a while and maybe we can connect more often if you would like too anytime. I'm more than happy to share my story and get to know you personally. I work weekends on the Forums and in the Guided Service during the week so can see your post most days @ArraDreaming Thank you for inviting me to a cuppa with you!! RiverSeal

Re: Share a cuppa?

It was nice to meet you and I think that would be good to talk a bit more and get to know you.
