@MDT @Glisten - the cruise is booked for June this year and I’m really looking forward to it. There’s something really calming about being out in the middle of the ocean knowing that I can’t be contacted by phone/email/social media and that the world can just happen without any control or action from myself. I’m not too worried if it’s rough seas as they just adds to the fun and excitement of cruising, especially since I don’t usually get seasick. Hello Carnival Splendor in June!
This morning I was woken up to a call from a handyman to come and fix the front door lock and the letterbox as we’d had trouble with both since moving in just over a month ago. My housemate and I had trouble getting back into the house on Sunday afternoon and had to go through the garage to get in the house. Anyway, the silly property manager came out on Monday and tried to be a hero by thinking she could fix it using a fake WD40 spray and then using her keys - didn’t work but obviously wanted to save the landlord money which we could’ve told her wouldn’t work! Long story short- new door handle/lock today got fitted and the letterbox is now firmly back on the post - was only being held on by 2 screws! All of this whilst my housemate had an appointment with the hospital for her sepsis treatment and to look at her cellulitis/abscess issues on her arm.
In regards to my mental health issues, I’m taking it one day at a time and trying to work up the courage to make a call to see if I could get an admission to the region PARCS facility. My GP has sent me my notes from previous PARCS admissions so I’m going to review them to see how I was able to get into PARCS - what reasons I used to get in and what I wanted to work on- as I think I really need it. I’ve had so much stress on me over the past few months with the whole moving thing and other issues that it’s getting a little too much to deal with. Again, I’ll get there eventually with what I have to do and that’s the main thing!
Time for me to chill and watch the tennis! Alex De Minaur is on tonight so it should be a good match!
Take care and stay safe!

Hey @Judi9877 ! Nice re the cruise! I'd LOVE to go on a cruise. I still haven't got to one yet. I've been houseboating plenty of times, but I just haven't made the cruises yet.
Hope things go well for you!
Once again, thanks for the update!

@Judi9877 Hope you and your friend, are ok. What helps ground you and reduces your stress levels? I find writing down my thoughts help and adding a bit of structure to my day. But also having a list- action. Where are you going on your cruise? I went on a cruise last June for ten nights- it was very relaxing. I was on Carnival too. I'm hoping to go on a cruise later in the year. Take it easy.

I felt like laughing when you told us about the owner........
Hilarious..
Im sorry about the mental health issues but it's quite refreshing reading your honest dialogue re - mental health.
Today I went to TAFE but iv got an appointment there on Friday with other students to get an introduction of Tafe. I went in there and discovered that I needed to use an actual computer to login. @avant-garde actually gave me some clear guidance .. ......thank you !!!
But turned up at the library and they showed me how to login.
My Occupational therapist has written this disability stability ' thing's paper about me.
I had to own all of it today. I feel - I remember the absolute shame I had in the past. Wow. It's brilliant today to know how far Australia has come. Look
I know how everyday we have another hurdle but today I had help. I had an amazing carer. I saw my Doctor. She listens to me. As I forgot every street which direction I was going - my carer helped me THEN she forgot where the car was ..

Oh good! I'm so glad something I said helped!
Librarians are amazing, I would know, I am trained to be one (did a librarian degree).
Meeting other new students will be good too, they may have questions that you might have later, or at least be a familiar face.
