Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Hey @Angels333. Thanks for your thoughtful reply as always.

It's a telehealth session - no more face-to-face anything these days. Will talk it through with him, he's usually pretty good with finding a strategy to help.

You're right that it's probably natural. The message that has been hammered into us for months is 1.5m distancing - so when that's breached I just react to it.

Yes I'm still working full time. Many in my industry have lost their jobs, so for now I'm lucky. I'm worried for how long though.

Today I'm making food for a friend who just had a baby. Her family are interstate so they don't have any help. Will cook a few meals and leave it at their gate. I'm sure I'll also do many puzzles and games with my little one too. She's obsessed with water colour painting right now.

What are you doing today lovely?

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Aahhh @Molliex

So you're cooking for your friend today just confirms to me what a beautiful and caring friend you are.

I love it that your D loves watercolor, I did a fine arts degree and it is so great to see children loving to paint, it's so calming 🥰

Today I have church online, followed by a zoom catch up with around 30 people, but I think it might be too much for me, too much anxiety so I can give it a miss if I want.    Then Mr Angels and I will do our weekly groceries together which is nice.  Then I think I will do tacos for dinner tonight,  a fairly simple meal I like tacos but they're really so messy.  If I think of something else I might change my mind, but the Son's love tacos lol

Sending calming vibes your way xxx

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

That sounds like a nice day @Angels333 . I love tacos too - we don't eat meat anymore, but I enjoy them with beans or spicy cauliflower.

My girl does love painting and colouring. I put food colouring in water to create 'water paints' - it's far cheaper and less messy that using proper paints.

I hope you have a good day my friend.

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Good stuff re vegetarian @Molliex my Tacos are vegetarian.   I am not 100% vegetarian but Mr Angels is.   So I only cook vegetarian at home.   The only time I eat meat is when I am out but not with Mr A, if I am with him I order vegetarian.

How do you do them with spicy cauliflower?     I would love to try it...   tonight it's mexe beans.....   But I could do cauliflower I love to experiment on Mr A.   I roasted a whole cauliflower last week in spices, was delicious

❤🧡💛💚💙💜

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Morning @Molliex,

I totally get it. Before this started I was able go out and visit friends, do my own groceries shopping, go to work (when I was working) and generally felt ok.

Through the lockdown, I have come to realise that prelockdown I was just very good at putting on a mask. Denying my feelings and MH to fit in with what everyone expected me to be.

I really hope that talking with your psychologist on Monday helps you my friend.

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

Hi @Molliex  thinking of you and sending warm wishes your way.  Hope tomorrow's appointment is really helpful.  Take care xx

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

You already know how to do the cauliflower tacos @Angels333  Just make the spices on your cauliflower more Mexican. Cut florets off your cauliflower and then put them in a taco with coriander a cheesy or tomato sauce, etc. Just experiment really

Re: Dealing with intrusive thoughts - my struggle!

What's bubble painting @Shaz51

She's 3.

I'm ok, today felt like a real grind, but I achieved some good things. I made some meals for my friend who just had a baby, and we took them to her place. I also wrote my first piece of paid writing for years. I got asked to write something for a publication, and it will be published next week. My little one was soooo demanding though.

How was your day?
