Re: Battles

@MJG017 unfortunately definitely not a scam. I want to say what it is but safety concerns really prevent me from doing that.

Hopefully it's just an error then.  I would thing if you legit owed that kind of money, you would know about it.  that's why my first thought was Centrelink.  They have a habit of just sending out weird debts to people.

Re: Battles

@MJG017 it hasn't come from an unexpected place like i said i know i owe this place some money (which has already been discussed and i pay it off) but not that much. Cos that's supposed to be covered already so I'm really confused. But if course my brain just goes to freaking out thinking worst case scenarios.

I could see fees, late fees, extra charges being added to a debt.  But $320 bumped up to $6,000 doesn't seem realistic.  Surely it's an error.  It should say exactly what you owe this money for.  I understand that you can't go into details here, but does it seem realistic to you that it's that much?  I struggle to see how it's possible.

Re: Battles

It definitely sounds like an error @Dreamy I know it's pretty hard, but do you think we could try to treat it as an annoying mistake that needs to be sorted out tomorrow until we know more?

Re: Battles

@MJG017 it's definitely a realistic amount for what it is. It's not late fees or anything like that.

Re: Battles

@Ru-bee but there's that possibility that it's not a mistake and if that's the case I'm screwed.

Even if we assume for a second that you do owe $6,000.  You can't squeeze blood out of a stone.  If you don't have the money, then they would need to make arrangements.  And there are different financial assistance options out there.  I know it's incredibly stressful, but try not to get too far ahead of things.  Lets just wait to see what they say and take things from there.

Re: Battles

@MJG017 but this would directly impact someone else and that's what scares me. Why can I never do anything right, why do i fail at everything. I can't even think straight now.

Aye wise words @MJG017 - it's obviously a huuuuge stress to have landed in your lap @Dreamy so by all mean let yourself be upset as needed, and then it's just about tackling it one step at a time. Hugs 🫂🫂
