Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Re: Battles

@rav3n it's more the worry of my heart stopping from exhaustion. It's not even anxiety that's got me shaking like this, it's part of it but the rest is cos of my heart. My body would be critically low on potassium and magnesium right now but the thought of having to be a human pin cushion doesn't thrill me. I just don't know what to do.

Re: Battles

well i'd say your safety is 100% my first priority @Dreamy but also i absolutely get not wanting to be a human pin cushion. is there any way for you to get some potassium & magnesium in you right now? (and would that help?)

as much as i don't want you to be prodded with, i do wonder if getting your levels up will help your mind and body feel more rested? i've heard a lot about magnesium playing a big role in sleep, so i wonder if this would help?

i know this isn't an easy decision, just know i'm right by your side here.

Re: Battles

@rav3n the amount that's needed to try and get my levels back up can only be done by IV. The longer my heart is high the lower the levels drop so it's constantly needing to be replaced. My levels are fine normally so it's not a contributing factor to my rest or sleep, it's only when my heart rate is like this that they drop.

I'm just really torn as to what to do. Do I just try to sleep and hope it settles or am I putting myself at a massive risk by not getting help. I'm exhausted and I want to try to rest but my mind is in overdrive over the what if's.

Re: Battles

ohh okay, that makes sense @Dreamy and it's a tricky spot to be in. i can hear how overwhelming making that decision is - sending you some extra gentle hugs 💙

would going to emergency help solve the what ifs? are there treatment/support they can give you that doesn't involve IVs?

Re: Battles

Thanks @rav3n ♥️. It's definitely overwhelming me.

There's nothing they can give without doing IV cos it needs to be done rapidly. I don't want to have to go to hospital, there's enough going on without this aswell.

Re: Battles

ahh damn, wish they could offer another option instead @Dreamy also just realised the time, i'll need to hop off soon but please do keep taking care of yourself. i really hope you start to feel okay soon 💙

how would you feel about giving yourself a time limit... like lets say in an hour? if you're not asleep and/or your heart rate hasn't improved by then, you give them a call? what'd you reckon?

Re: Battles

@rav3n I'll try to, I can just really feel my body starting to struggle.

Yeah I'll give it an hour and if it hasn't settled I'll call an ambulance.

Re: Battles

Hey@Dreamy

I just got home.  Sorry to hear you're having such a tough night.  The thought of having to go to the hospital is a tough one to make, especially if we convince ourselves we can get though.  If it starts to get too bad though, you may not have a choice, but lets hope it doesn't come to that.  Well, i mane you always have a choice but sometimes life just doesn't give you any good ones and you have to pick one than you'd rather not.

Has it improved any at all since your last post?
