@Patches59 I'm glad you're booked in for surgery now. I picked up my new glasses today - the final stage after my cataract op. My vision seems disappointingly ordinary but it's a relief it's all over. You're lucky to have been able to keep sewing. I couldn't thread a needle. It sounds like a really big project to line all your curtains.
@lighthouse22 I have an elderly cat as company.
@tyme sorry for the late reply but I didn't know what to say. I don't know what support I want or need and have noone to talk to. All I can do is remind myself of "behavioural activation" but sometimes I'm not up to it.

Hi @Dimity for last few years my right eye has been doing majority of the role of me seeing things clearly whilst vision in left eye has deteriorated due to cataract getting worse. I’ve been dealing with constant blurred vision in my left eye for approx last 2 1/2 years. Adding additional blockout lining to my drapes definitely is a massive task, will be worth it when it’s all finished. I’m light sensitive with recently waking before 7am due to light in the bedroom. I’m hoping the extra lining will also be benefit in the warmer months.
@tyme less than a month before the procedure and soooo many things to do including the all important cat food.
as it’s only an overnight stay in hospital, the cats will be taking care of the house.
neighbour has offered to drop in and feed them if needed.
Same neighbour driving me to and from hospital with few different people having offered to help me with anything if needed

@Dimitymy son is very keen to get a cat. I don't know anything about cats, how they go with puppies etc. It's seems overwhelming to make his wish come true. What kind of a cat do you have...

It probably depends on the temperament of the cat @lighthouse22 . Some cats and dogs get on very well. If you get a rescue the shelter might know their history.
My cat is just a standard mog. He's a brown tabby domestic shorthair who lost a hind leg years ago in an accident before I adopted him. He's a bit anxious at times but good company.
What sort of puppy do you have?

@Dimity He sounds like good company and might be more on the relaxed side if he is that bit older.
Thank you for the suggestion, yes it will be a balancing act of both temperaments. He is a Cavoodle. Very placid and sweet.
What is your cats name? I had to google mog to get more of a visual feel for what he might look like 🙂

@lighthouse22 cavoodles are lovely. A neighbour had one (she moved).
The cat sleeps most of the time. He can be quite vocal when he wants something. I won't mention his name as it's unusual (anonymity fears). I'll take him to the vet tomorrow for his regular arthritis injection.

Thanks @lighthouse22, yes, it was very promising. Out support group last night had a guest speaker who is a clinical psychologist who works for Lift where they deal specifically with people affected by cancer. She talked about the difference you have to make from standard psychology and it all made a lot of sense to me. I got a chance to have a good chat with her and she asked about my experiences so far and was very surprised by some of the thing I was previously told. I'd love to use their service, it sounded awesome. They even have a medically monitored exercise physiology program. But it's a bit out of my price range.
