Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi #tyme, that looks like a delicious cuppa.

I had a nice deep sleep after lunch and awoke at 5.30, had an early dinner, watched some TV, started to watch a very old and idealised film about Beethoven and his composing the "Eroica", he did actually start composing it as an homage to Napoleon, but became a bit disillusioned with Bonaparte, as you do with leaders, you find out they're not messiahs.

I haven't finished watching it, it's a quite old Austrian film, and I like to watch different as well as dated perspectives on things and people. Since that film we know now that Beethoven had Paget's disease of the skull which is what made him go deaf and much of why he was so miserable and in chronic pain, they didn't know that in the 1950s when the film was made. So it's interesting to see what they made of his emotional Intensity and brooding moodiness. They put it down to his genius, which he no doubt had, but it wasn't the reason. We get to appreciate that now, they didn't in the 50s.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi @Shaz51, it sounds like your day hummed along nicely, mine did too. I had a lovely snooze after lunch, and I've just finished grooming my beard now after a nice warm bath, I bought a beard soap the other day, and a new boar bristle beard brush that I'm using to spread the beard oils and beard butter when I apply them. I've been using synthetic bristle ones, but have been told boar bristle brushes are better.

I got a very good beard conditioner the other week too, I'm very pleased with the results of it, my mustache particularly is growing a lot more healthily now. I have What they call an Irish beard, which is to say the mustache is often a bit thin, but now it's a lot healthier. I'm very pleased about that.

How did you go with your mum and aunt? How did Mr. Shaz's projects go?

Re: Share a cuppa?

That sounds like a lovely outing @Meowmy, it's lovely to enjoy the company of others and good food. I'm going to a lunch tomorrow after church, and some friends of mine are organising something for my birthday on the 2nd of June I shall turn 59 then.

Re: Share a cuppa?

@Abner hey Abner, enjoy church and lunch tomorrow. Happy birthday soon. It's a good age you will be at. Wish you a great year. Take care.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi @Meowmy, how's your day been? After church I went to a lunch and was stimulated by an imteresting discussion about the Voice to Parliament. It was very interesting. I always enjoy interesting discussions, I feel intellectually stimulated, and engaged.

Re: Share a cuppa?

@Abner hey Abner, glad you enjoyed church and discussion. I went to have lunch with a friend who recently lost her husband. We had vouchers for discount food. So we had nice lunch and coffee at Novotel hotel. Was lovely atmosphere, music and service. Then I went to collect grocery from the shops. Just got home. Hope you enjoy a good evening
