The sunlight lifted her mood and she thought that maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all. She whistled to herself as she walked down the street on her way to school. The neighbours dog put his paws up on the fence like he did each time May passed and she gave him a big cuddle. She smiled to herself and decided to think of today as a new adventure.

Of course the sun dazzled her eyes as she walked along the path towards the station. How could it be such a beautiful day when inside she was full of turmoil knowing that later today she would be facing what she dreaded most...

But those thoughts were quickly forgotten as she caught a glimpse of something beautiful out of the corner of her eye...

The billboard across the road featured the most beautiful animal she had ever seen. Horse racing wasn't her thing as she knew of the cruelty used by the jockeys and trainers but this animal was something else...

Lost in her thoughts she hurried on towards the bus station which was not far from her home. She had a long bus trip to make to the next town where her school was located. As she neared the station she saw her bus was already there. She climbed aboard, said hi to the bus driver and found her usual seat on the near empty bus. Now she had time to think she started to daydream...

She thought about the beautiful horse she'd seen on the billboard and she wondered what it would be like to gallop free on his back without a care in the world.

Feel the wind on her face, her hair flying in the wind no care in the world just freedom riding this beautiful creature.

Her thoughts shifting to a different world with beautiful mystic creatures, horses with wings...and then all of a sudden her horse grew wings and she felt herself be lifted into the sky and...

there she was... flying free through the sky, feeling the sun and the air on her face and in her hair. She felt as if nothing bad could touch her here, here she was free to be herself, to truly let go and be happy. Suddenly she felt her body lurch and she was abruptly lurched out of her wonderful dream as the bus braked heavily. The driver swore under her breath, a dog had darted out in front of the bus and was narrowly missed. They were on their way again.
