Good Morning!

Re: Good Morning!

Hello @pinklollipop15

This is a longish post, of approximately 860 words, but I hope it will help you, and others, to more easily and effectively navigate through some of the forum and site functions. If you have any questions about using the site, please ask, because that is how the majority of members acquired the same knowledge and information. {as well as by 'trial and error', which can be unnecessarily frustrating.} If anyone knows of additional or alternative ways to accomplish these goals, their comments would be welcome.

For exercise and exploration, left-mouse-clicking any of the words coloured "Teal" in this message will take you to the relevant location on the forum site.

"

I had noticed, in one of the previous posts, that the forum address to BPDSurvivor had not shown as an address in that post. An address is shown in the same way that your address is shown above ie @pinklollipop15 . I would like to give a rundown on addressing people by their forum names and addresses, which I hope will be of assistance.

"

When you wish to alert another member to your post,

  1. First click the "REPLY" box, at the lower right corner of the post to which you are responding, {as I know that you have already done in previous posts.}

  2. With the reply box open, enter the "@" symbol, anywhere in the writing area of the reply box; a drop-down menu will appear, that will have the forum addresses of the other people who have been active in the thread.

  3. Select any, or as many members, offered as forum addresses, as you wish to include in your post. By left-mouse-clicking a forum address, in the drop-down menu, that address will then be transferred into your reply box, or anywhere that the cursor is located in the text of your message.

  4. Each time that you select an address, from the menu list of addresses, you need repeat the procedure, from 2. above, to select another address, by opening the address drop-down menu list again, and selecting another person's forum address, for inclusion in your post.

  5. Having selected the forum addresses of the people you wish to be informed of your reply, or comment, write the rest of your post. {As I am aware that you have already done in your previous posts.}

  6. Click “POST”, then check for any issues, particularly, as directed by the notification, "Correct the highlighted errors and try again.", that may be shown above your post. Then click “POST” again.

{this "....highlighted errors..." notification is often shown, even when there are no such errors in your post. You can normally ignore the "...invalid HTML..." notice, underneath your message. However, if your message is not accepted on the second “POST” attempt, check for other notifications underneath your message, in the "...invalid HTML..." location, the inclusion of which may indicate a reason why your post was not accepted on the second “POST” attempt. These reasons can include use or inclusion of particular words, dosage of medications etc. These restrictions are covered in the “Guidelines & Info”, but it is easy to overlook a word, phrase, dosage etc. The check and information given is an override that assists us in compliance with the guidelines.}

Forum Names and Addresses

Your forum name = pinklollipop15     Your forum address = @pinklollipop15

My forum name = HenryX      My forum address = @HenryX

Knowing when another member has addressed you in their comment and post.

The number of posts, from other members, that include your address, and also, those posts in threads in which you have been subscribed by your acivity in the thread, is shown in a circle next to the word “New”, at the top right of the forum page, and just to the right of “Guidelines & Info”.

A left-mouse-click, on the word “New”, will take you to the “Your Notifications” page, in which all the activity connected with threads, in which you have been active, is shown. On the “Your Notifications” page, there is a vertical bar, on the left side, that shows the latest notifications, since you last selected “New”. By right or left-mouse-clicking any thread title (eg. Re: Good Morning!) where information of recent activity is shown directly above the thread title, you will open that selected post, from the “Your Notifications” page.

{left-mouse-click the thread title, to open in the same browser tab:

right-mouse-click the thread title, to open in a new browser tab}

I find it easier to open all the latest “Re: *****Thread Title**** ”, thread titles in new browser tabs, rather than one at a time. I then read and respond, as and if appropriate, to each in the order selected. When desired activity has been completed, that thread title tab is then closed, by which action, the next selected tab, thread and post for attention, is brought to view.

"

This guide is a starter, which I hope will be helpful for you, @pinklollipop15 and others. As said above, Any questions please ask from anywhere in the forum, and another member, or I, will be happy to respond.

"

With My Best Wishes
