Far and Away

Re: Far and Away

It is ridiculous how these gov depts think they can change the rules when they want @TAB Good on you for sticking up for yourself and getting what you needed. I am still in a fight with the independent assessor - got some paperwork to do and send off but procrastinating at present - needs to be done though as this person cannot get away with making assumptions with no facts to back them up.

Re: Far and Away

I have definitely brought my Mum around in that regard @Snowie Last year she even gave me a small present attached to a 'save the koalas' donation - she knows me so well - it was perfect. This year we were not supposed to buy presents but as soon as Mum said that she knew I would not be able to resist - and probably already had them sorted lol (which I had). It was really funny when I started putting everything together - I had sooo much. My sister said on christmas day that I should have saved some for her birthday (which is months away). I buy things throughout the year to make it easier to spread the money but I do think last year I overdid it a bit 🤣 I didn't care - there is always meaning behind what I get and I love to give presents so it was worth it.

Re: Far and Away

yeah its not good @Zoe7 . in my case the problem is private company who is not accountable for what they do unless I make waves..

Anyway , as I realised on the way home , my last 'job plan' was to apply for 2 jobs a fortnight. Was not the point. they have done Nothing for me, they just get govt money for me showing up at pointless 'interviews' where they repeatedly promise me everything and wont give me bus fare. (ok just a saying, but they have not given me any help whatsoever , financial or otherwise in 7months now. nor did any of the other providers I was with over last 4 years lol

What they said stank, so am going after them.

Re: Far and Away

Unfortunately that has been the culture of these places for decades @TAB They get all the funding with no real help for those that need it. When I was doing the same, all the work was done by myself not them. I know that particular provider was not refunded but I was not surprised. Seems like you have the same going on - not good.

Re: Far and Away

Morning @Zoe7 @Faith-and-Hope @TAB @Snowie @Emelia8  🙂

Hope you are all well.

Re: Far and Away

have seen in the media that job network places focus on employable people and well just milk the system with people like me. they get around $200 for every time I turn up to be asked the same questions by different people lol. anyway, have contacted course provider to get details person from Dept Employment I rang yest said I would need. (to take to centrelink etc) they wanted a finish date as start date and time duration wasnt cutting it for them. i went to centrelink yest . person spoke with wasnt really getting what I was saying. just kept pulling faces and questioning everything I said. It turns out they went to the same place  prior to getting a job at Centrelink and thought they were right lolo.. @Zoe7

Re: Far and Away

Hi @tyme Nice to see you here ❤️ Had a busy day yesterday so resting before I have someone come to look at what we need to do to put my attic ladder in this afternoon. How are you doing?

Re: Far and Away

That was my experience too @TAB Too much wasted money that could actually be used to help people rather than tick their boxes.

Re: Far and Away

Hey @Zoe7 , last night after I clocked off, I was thinking to check-in with you just to see how you are. I hope you find you are getting a bit of a break. I'm sorry to hear about your back. Back pain is so hard to live with!

@TAB , from what I've read, you've been around life a fair bit. What sort of work did you do in the past? (Only if you feel like answering). At one point, I remember you had contract jobs that lasted a few weeks.

Re: Far and Away

Thanks @Zoe7 @Snowie @TAB ♥

Hi @tyme 😄

Yes I love my little furbaby Hannah already.  And I realise she will be a bit of a handful and keep me on my toes for a while. But I know and accept that. I have the time. Its not as if I have anything else in my life.

I will enroll her in puppy classes. Good mental and physical stimulation for her. As well as socialisation. Ha ha, for both of us 😱 ouch.

She is a Cavoodle,  cross of Cavalier and Poodle. But rather than the teddy bear look that many of them have,  Hannah is looking like being a straight coat cavoodle. Meaning her coat type takes after the Cavalier more than the Poodle. She is very cute though,  and is red or brown in colour. In fact is pretty much the same hair colour as me,  before I turned silver 😂

Let me see if I can post a pic.

Yep I think that worked. This is her, finally tired out and asleep on my lap. ♥
