Support for L-B

Re: Support for L-B

Hi @tyme @Oaktree ! I have been socialising on my weekends but not during the week. Perhaps should do more mid week to balance it out.

Re: Support for L-B

Also, @tyme @Oaktree , your support is a tonic.

Good to hear that you have been doing some socialising. That’s great! I hope you are able to find other employment easily somewhere that they will value your talents. How is the anxiety these days?

Re: Support for L-B

Hi @Oaktree , the anxiety is a constant companion. I try to accept anxiety being there and do my best regardless.

I am already feeling anxious about studying next year and I haven’t been accepted yet. I guess we just need to learn to manage the anxiety

Re: Support for L-B

I am excited to hear about your study plans @Oaktree ! Accepting that anxiety will probably come along uninvited for the ride, while mindfully engaging in whatever I am doing helps me manage it sometimes. What helps you manage anxiety?

Re: Support for L-B

Um paced breathing usually helps my anxiety. Or maybe distractions. If I get really anxious I usually go to bed but that is a bad habit

Re: Support for L-B

Paced breathing - I find useful too @Oaktree

Going to bed can work but in the end I'd spend all my time there...Talking is helpful..

I think too just breaking tasks down into small steps so that I don’t get too overwhelmed

Re: Support for L-B

@Oaktree , you mentioned distraction. I find comedy a great distraction from anxiety as well as the arts. Hard to be anxious if you're inspired. Does humour help you?
