My Place

Re: My Place

OMG @Oaktree You will be giving our awesome @ArraDreaming a run for his money soon. What great progress on your babies 😁

Re: My Place

Thanks @Zoe7 @Appleblossom

I am quite proud of my little babies. Looking forward to when I can start harvesting.

Re: My Place

You should be proud @Oaktree and also thrilled with how well everything is growing. It may not seem obvious but this project has also seemed to help you so much with your MH 😁

Re: My Place

@Dimity

I was just over on your tidying thread and I noticed that you mentioned that you suffer with loneliness. Me too!!!

I find that the forums do help a little with the loneliness. I like the connections that I have made here. I am not someone that has a lot of real world friends so my friends here mean such a lot to me. Do you have anything in particular you do to combat the loneliness?

Best wishes,

Meggle

Re: My Place

Hi @Oaktree thanks for reaching out. I'm not good with loneliness. Almost all my interactions are text based - forums  friends and my few family - but they sustain me. I sometimes speak to a neighbour or family. Lately I've had a private support worker who's often the only person I see week to week. She's encouraged me to try to get out. I've been to a couple of concerts and tried a book group. Unfortunately she's finishing up.

I hope you're not missing your husband too much now he's at his new job.  It sounds as though you're quite active with your church and various groups - I hope you enjoy those and make some good friends.

As you know I try to walk every day. That's become important to me. I'm going to try to spend some time in the garden most days too. I wish I could rekindle my love of reading, I think it would help. I'd love to do more nature walks but I need support for that. Not driving is very limiting and has prevented me from joining a lot of community activities.

Re: My Place

Hi @Dimity

I hardly ever make it to Church although I really should go. I go outside and check my seedings every day. I do miss my husband now he is working and it makes it difficult to get around as he takes the car so I have had to cancel some activities. I am supposed to go to a group weekly starting today but I think I am going to have to pull out because I can’t easily get there. I will have to send apologies this morning.

Re: My Place

Yes it's not easy without a car @Oaktree . It's a pity you'll be missing out on your new group. I've been noticing more groups and webinars are getting together on Zoom or livestreaming. Would your NDIS funding help towards a taxi or uber? I use public transport but fill in gaps with taxis, which I often find problematic. I've had to cancel appointments when taxis don't turn up, and have felt stranded when it's been difficult to find a taxi home. Last time I had to take the cat to the vet I booked in advance and asked the driver to wait and return.

Re: My Place

I am now in the final stages of putting together for my upcoming overseas trip. I purchased what I believe are the “last” items I will need - excepting medications etc. - it makes me feel good when I add new items to the collection. I went on a long hike over the weekend which is commensurate with my days on my trip. I was ecstatic. But more training is to come…

Re: My Place

Woohoo @Delicatessen

That is so exciting. When are you off on your trip? I bet you are going to have an amazing time. It’s great that you are getting prepared both physically and materially. I am kind of jealous.

Hi guys, I don’t have a lot to report but I haven’t done an update for a few days so here I am.

Firstly my seedlings are doing really well. I am going to plant some oregano and strawberry seeds today or tomorrow. I went and bought more pots and soil this morning.

I went to mah-jong yesterday and won 2 games. I sat with different ladies and they went a bit fast for me to have a good look through my book to work out what I was doing otherwise I might have done better. I still had fun though. I met three new ladies anyway.

My Lite n’ Easy is going well and I haven’t cheated. Been on that two weeks today. So far I am enjoying the food. Starting to get some favourite dinners. I really love the southern style chicken tenders, the chicken parmigiana and the slow cooked beef in red wine and mustard gravy. I am getting my next delivery on Friday morning. I will probably be at the dentist when it comes but my husband will be here when it’s delivered.

I went for a walk to the library and back yesterday to play mah-jong and then I walked to the shops and back today to go check the lotto. I also went to the bank to grab some change. It was a good excuse for a walk. I need to get motivated and start walking daily again.

Hubby started working about 2 1/2 weeks ago and today is payday so I am particularly happy about that. We have to just put all his pay in the credit card as we used that to make ends meet when he was out of work. It should only take maybe 4 months to pay it off hopefully.

I saw a couple of movies last week. 80 for Brady with Sally Field, The Jesus Revolution and Guardians of the Galaxy. I enjoyed all of those movies although The Jesus Revolution wouldn’t have been something that I would have chosen to see. We only saw that because we got mixed up about the time of another movie. It was based on a true story and was really good.

I can’t think of anything else making me happy right now so I will leave it here. I am hoping that you all are having a wonderful day.
