Hey @Oaktree!!
I love my job here at SANE! Not only is the work itself very rewarding (and chock full of really wholesome, special moments working w members), but the team are amazing, super supportive, and really lean into collaboration, which I highly value.
I reckon it's not an overly difficult learning journey, more just one of familiarising yourself with the systems we use! And the environment here is one where like, there's no 'stupid questions' - as in, if I'm unsure about something, even if I think I should probably know by now, I never feel like asking the question will result in me copping shame or disappointment from colleagues.
It can be a challenge at times operating in a ‘community mindset’ – i.e. whatever you’re doing also needs to consider the needs of the wider community. But maybe that’s more been a challenge for me, moving from providing 1:1 therapeutic support over to forums full-time!! You’ve been here long enough you’re probably more community-minded than me! Teehee 😋
Always happy to answer questions and talk about my experiences, so feel free to ask me anything!! 💜

I haven’t posted things that have been making me happy lately. So on the 10th it was my first son’s 30th birthday. He had a big birthday party with family and a bunch of his friends. There were 21 people there. Then on my birthday I went to my son’s fiancé’s Mum’s wedding. That was a lovely and simple ceremony. We didn’t stay for the reception because it was a long way from home. It was held at a yacht club south of Perth. Then last night on the 18th I had a family celebration for my birthday and my best friend came as well. We went to a pub down the road. It was lovely. Lovely view of the sunset and yummy food. Then we came back to my place for icecream cake because that is my tradition. I always have icecream cake for my birthday… anyway now I am a year older, my good friend says wiser but he is the same age as me so I think he is biased lol… anyway I have been having a happy time. I also won $25 on scratchies given to me for my birthday!

@Oaktree so glad that you have been having some really good times lately, you definitely deserve all the happiness in the world.
Icecream cake is always yummy and perfect for some of the warmer weather we have been having lately. Congratulations on the scratchies win 😊
