Australian Eating Disorders Conference for Carers - Sydney

A message from Butterfly Foundation:

Carers play a crucial role in the care, support and recovery of people with eating disorders.  Up to date information, training and support are vital in order to fill that role successfully. With this in mind, we are excited to announce that, together with F.E.A.S.T (Families Empowered and Supporting the Treatment of Eating Disorders), Butterfly is hosting the third Australian Eating Disorders Conference for Carers in Sydney in May 2017.

At Home with Eating Disorders will widen the knowledge of carers of those living with an eating disorder, and  help people through the journey of their loved one’s recovery. Content includes presentations from leading health professionals, practical forums to help develop the skills of the carer, and opportunities to discuss their experience with other families and to build support networks.

Registration for the At Home with Eating Disorders Conference is open now.  The first early bird rates for the conference and workshops end on 31st March so early booking is advised.

This year’s conference is shaping up to be our best ever with three pre-eminent keynote speakers, Professor Janet Treasure, Dr Roxanne Rockwell and Dr Stephen Touyz, along with a number of expert clinicians, experienced carers and recovered individuals.

Janet and Roxanne will also be running pre-conference workshops on 11 May, covering Collaborative Care Skills and Meal Coaching Strategies respectively. These workshops are very popular and have limited places so if you are interested please book early.  There will also be a Welcome Function on Thursday evening (included in registration) and a dinner on Friday evening. Consider coming to at least one of these events as they are an excellent place to network and find fellow carers in your area.

If you know of anyone who you feel would benefit from this conference, feel free to direct them to the At Home with Eating Disorders website.

This is a fantastic conference. I've been to the last two and will go to this one. Is anyone else going?
