Love this it's so good that we can start looking after the blue collar workers. I wish them success and may they always have funding.

Re: Service Spotlight: Get to know OzHelp

Thank you @hope77 for your kinds words. We have been helping men and women in the blue collar sectors - mainly construction and mining since 2001, and we are hoping and planning to keep doing so for many years to come!

Re: Service Spotlight: Get to know OzHelp

That looks great @ozhelp and @NikNik!

Must be a tough one in the industry where it's normal to say "have some concrete and harden the f up"

@NikNik@ozhelp

Such a good story to see.  Well done @ozhelp 🙂

Re: Service Spotlight: Get to know OzHelp

Absolutely @Former-Member, it can be tough especially for apprentices. That's where our field officers are key, regularly holding BBQs, mental and physical health checks and short information sessions about mental health and suicide on site.

The sessions give the people on the site some tools to help them move through the tough times and to spot changes in a mate who might be struggling.

We have had feedback time and again that simply by coming to a worksite or TAFE class and talking about mental health issues, that it helps to de-stigmatise it and people struggling with mental health feel more comfortable sharing their struggles with their colleagues as a result.

It's so important to keep talking about it!
