Deja Vu, Flash Backs, OCD or am I just weird

So Im gonna try and explain this as best I can cause its weird and I dont think I did when I asked about it on FB.

Every now and then something will happen, anything. Might be eating peas, moving lighters, drriving past a bike and it is like Im having a flash back, like deja vu but I almost know what is about to happen because Ive lived it before.

When it stops Im left with a feeling of dread that I am going to be in trouble for something, like my sister/mum is gonna lose their shit at me. If Im driving often its the cops will pull me over (even if none are visable).

It doesnt bother me so much nowday, like I dont like it, Id like it to stop but given all the other crap in my life its pretty low on the list of things that bother me.

Its been suggested that it could be OCD, which Im diagnosed with but I went through ERP treatment years ago and for the better part of it got that treated. Theres still some traits but mnagable. Numbers are a thing but most electronics now dont have numbers next to their volume so less of an issue.

I dunno about the OCD thing, Im happy to be proven wrong but for my mind it would be repeatable, like going past a spot triggers it, there is no consistant trigger in this case

Re: Deja Vu, Flash Backs, OCD or am I just weird

Hi @ClockFace,

I don't think you are weird at all. From what I have read deja vu is actually relatively common. Although I haven't experienced it often I have experienced it. I do think not everything can be explained by science.

I found my experience with deja vu was actually a little comforting as it did seem familiar (been there, done that). It's a shame your experience with deja vu brings up feelings of dread and concerns around negative repercussions for you (you worry about your mum/sister's response).

Like you, there's no triggers that seem to set my deja vu off - just sort of randomly happens.

Warm wishes,

FloatingFeather
