Brain damage

Hey,

Has anyone else suffered brain damage from drug use.

I had a reaction to recreational drugs when I was 21 and my brain never seemed to recover...

My medication usually helps me cope but it seems to not be working at the moment.

Getting through a day at work and talking to people is so hard.

Re: Brain damage

Not drug use, but I believe medication and ECT have affected me. Cognitively I’ve never been the same since ECT

Re: Brain damage

@Christheart   my psychosis and meds have stuff up my brain

Re: Brain damage

Oh no 😔

That's so horrible.

I was considering trying ECT if I don't improve soon. But maybe it would just make me worse 😔

Re: Brain damage

@greenpea

Are you able to work? How do you go socialising?

My anxiety has been so Hugh the last 2 days I keep vomiting and can't eat 😔 sorry for the top much information. I just not sure how to cope.

Re: Brain damage

Hello @Christheart

I’m sorry things are so tough for you right now. I’ve had ECT and recently when I was in hospital I scored 100% in a cognitive test so there’s my good news story. ECT does cause some memory loss but everyone is different so be guided by your Dr and then you can make an informed decision.

I hope today is a bit better for you 💜

Re: Brain damage

everyone is different @Christheart , as @Eve7  said, she is fine, as are alot of other people. please be guided by your dr's.

Re: Brain damage

Do you have a good relationship with a doctor or therapist you trust @Christheart? I think it's important to share our experiences as we are here, but to also communicate your concerns with your doctor who can then support you in your treatment plan.
