Great idea @NikNik
I'm here to connect with other carers and help others feel less alone.
1) Christmas is my favourite time of the year
2) I'm a beach person
3) I can't play sports, but I love going to any live game of any...well most... sports
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi
I'm new here I have just discovered this forum and am glad for it.
I am needing advice to cope myself or advice on how to get help for my mum so our family can heal.
from doing alot of research on personality disorders I have been able to identify her behaviours with BPD and Narcissistic traits.
Our whole family struggle regularly with the egg shell sinario and what we have all termed tantrums. None of us have the courage to say it to her face.
Right now we all just need to get past this latest episode and this forum looks like it will be a great source for that help.

Hi @denial,
Nice to meet you. @Shaz51 is right, there's a great bunch of people on here.
I can't recall of many people with parent who have BPD. But there are a few people on here who are parents or partners. You may want to check out this thread by @Allig. Her daughter has been diagnosed with BPD. She may be able to give you some advice around how to respond to your mum's behaviour. In that thread @Makettle also talks about some of the hardships of providing support for their son.
We also had a special event, a Topic Tuesday, on Debunking the myths of BPD, which you might find useful too.
One service that you might also find helpful is spectrum. They're based in VIC. Not sure where you are, but they can be a good resource to get more information.
Hope this helps a bit.
CB

Hi there
We are a blended family of twenty years and have just had our 23yr old Daughter diagnosed with Scizoaffective disorder with Bi Polar1, and are researching the hell out of the condition in order to best help her in her recovery and get her back on her journey in life.
We are Bushy's in a very rural area, two hours travel away from the Hospital.
We are scared for our girl.
This only happens to other people right ? Or so we thought.
Have had a read of some of the recent personal storys shared here on the Forums and have gained more information here in an hour or so reading than we have in the over two weeks since our daughter was admitted from the Doctors currently treating her.
Thankyou all.
