Hi @Former-Member,

We've been in our new place for four months now so are feeling more settled. Still battling Centrelink. My husband finally got Newstart and I had to throw a real performance to get that. My second son is still without any income support and was rejected twice for DSP. Then having received a report from a disability employment service they phoned me and asked me to reapply. Can you believe it? A frigging employment service has more weight with Centrelink than treating specialists and case workers. Still waiting and struggling. Eldest son has been in hospital twice since we moved and had to wait a week in ER to get admitted to the ward. For some time now I have been of the opinion that the government is actually trying to encourage the suicide rate. I fail to see anything that would convince me otherwise.

How are you finding carer communication with treating team @perseverer

The treating team in Tasmania is excellent, @Former-Member, on the ball. Both the older sons were quickly allocated case workers and the eldest has also had hospital in the home upon being discharged. In fact the mental health team contacted us and visited us shortly after we moved and were staying at the pub. So the people in the system are outstanding, doing their best to grapple with infrastructure and other resources that are woefully inadequate.
