still trying to get it together

Having lots of trouble trying to get around this new format.        Yes I'm still trying to get it together, no body seems to want to bother to help you to get where you need to go to get help.    Excuses excuses. You dont meet the criterior, fill in a form , phone calls from mental health people, make an appointment 2 weeks wait, dont call us, we will call you.   Tried to get onto Beyond Blue, gave up from frustration.   I'm battling SADS, with a bit of PTSD, this one is hard to shift. The anxiety comes and goes, agitation and irritability pretty high. Spending a lot of time in bed, thats taking a bit of stress away. Be glad when Spring is here. My cats are a big comfort. Do a bit of cooking when I can force my self out of bed. Make enough meals to last for 2 days, live on leftovers for the next 2 days. Watch lots of dvds to make the time go by.   Look out the window....overcast.....doesnt help.  Shrink says... call her...but all she wants to do is put me on drugs, that I dont want to take.   Dont want a lecture so I wont call her.    Living on cups of tea. At least I wont have water retention.  To utter the words of Ned Kelly ..Such is life.     Enough for today.  jay2

Re: still trying to get it together

Hi @jay2

I'm really hearing that things are tough for you at the moment, and you're feeling pretty frustrated with your current mental health support. Sometimes it can be hard to find the right support - because it looks different for everyone. But just as there are so many ways to get treatment that will work differently for everyone, there are so many different ways that professionals will work with their clients. It can be a long process, but I encourage you to keep trying - whether it is by having a conversation with your psych about why that medication isn't for you and asking for help with different options, or it's doing some searching on your own to find a treatment pathway/professional that will work for you and with you. You can even search for different professionals who specialise in what you're looking for via databases:

Find a Psychologist

Glad you're able to get some of these feelings out on the forums, and I hope things improve for you soon Smiley Happy

Re: still trying to get it together

@jay2  Sorry things are so tough for you at the moment.

Do you have any family or friends that might be able to help ? Sometimes a phone call can make a small difference. Or someone might drop off a meal.

I’m pleased you have the comfort of your cats. I have a little chihuahua who does the same for me. 🐈🐈🐈🐶🐶🐶🐾🐾🐾

I’m sorry the system isn’t working for you at the moment. Many others are finding it the same.

SADS is extremely difficult this time of year.

Sending some 💙💙💙💞💞
