Looking after ourselves

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

Yes @Former-Member there are days when we feel we have covered the whole spectrum of emotions. The intensity can also vary and is often reflected in how we describe them.

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

wow @Former-Member , look at the chart with all those emotions ( there is a lot )

Hello @Faith-and-Hope , @starflame , @nashy , @Former-Member , @Janiee , @Ali11

when we in the thick of things , I never thought of the emotions I was going through at that time --- you just go through it the best you can .it is amazing what you can go through at that time also how some emotions don`t step in until it is over and then it hits you

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

That is a great chart @Former-Member, and @Shaz51 is right - that is a lot of emotions. Shaz51, it is amazing when you look at what you've gone through but even better is when you realise what you've learned from it when facing another situation. Have you experienced this for yourself?

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

yes @Ali11

when mum has her stroke , her broken hip , her bowel obstructions surgery

seeing My mr shaz attempted s

when mr shaz was in hospital 60 ms away , and I stayed at the red cross and saw him everyday ( he only wanted me and his daughter with him )

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

@Shaz51

Are you able to name some of these emotions?

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

wow emotions @Former-Member , @Ali11

at first it was "get into action "

then  crying , " why Me " ,"why not Me " being postive , caring , sad, mad , uncertain of the future , lonely  "what about me ", " what next " upset , not sure what to do, guilty , , on my own . awww soo many things running through my head then your body and mind goes into shut down , dont want to think anymore

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

@Former-Member, @Ali11 , @Faith-and-Hope , @Determined

there were lots of other emotions as I was blamed for mr shaz being in hospital

exhausted , worried , concerned , alone

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

@Shaz51  @Former-Member  @Ali11

Great thread @Former-Member  but only have a chance to get back to it now.

I agree with @Shaz51  about the shut down...

I wonder if it is don't want to think anymore or too hard to think anymore.

I think point 1 on the first pic is pertinent.

Identifying and acknowledging emotions rather than pushing them away....  something to work on.

Re: Talking about building emotional resilience

Do you think you could name some of the emotions you have felt @Determined ?
